GOVERNOR’S MONTHLY LETTER AUGUST 2026 7-in-1 Service Project Kamuning Elementary School By: CP Meric Mara July 1 marked the beginning of a new Rotary Year—and for the Rotary Club of Quezon City MediaTech, it began with action. Led by Legacy President Fellie Castillo, RCQC MediaTech officially kicked off the Rotary Year with its 7-in-1 Service Project at Kamuning Elementary School, bringing Rotary’s Seven Areas of Focus into one school and one day of meaningful community service. The initiative addressed the needs of learners, teachers, parents, and the school community through programs focused on education, health, technology, environment, child protection, and economic empowerment. Project Connect strengthened the school’s digital infrastructure through Mesh Wi-Fi, expanding access to technology-enabled learning. We Smiles promoted WASH, proper hygiene, and sanitation, while Project Kalinga supported maternal and child health through nutrition and wellness activities. Environmental responsibility was encouraged through the distribution of seeds and gardening tools, inspiring learners to understand their role in protecting the environment. The project also promoted peace and child protection through awareness sessions on VAWC, OSAEC, cyber safety, and responsible online behavior. Through CyberTeach and Aklatang Bayan, learners received literacy resources and digital citizenship education, including Ang Ma-Husay Online, helping young people become informed, responsible, and safer digital citizens. Project SIKAP introduced financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and basic business management, providing practical knowledge that can help strengthen families and future livelihoods. This 7-in-1 initiative was more than a collection of activities.
